Terms of Service

Last updated: August 17, 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the Dochel website, applications, and Programs. By creating an account, accessing the platform, or enrolling in a Program, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Dochel.

A Program may include additional published rules. If those rules conflict with these Terms on an operational matter specific to that Program, the published Program rules apply to that Program to the extent of the conflict, except where these Terms expressly state otherwise.

1. What Dochel is

  1. Dochel is a premium international learning platform. Dochel provides structured Programs in which Participants practice English communication through meaningful conversations with people who have real international academic and professional experience.

  2. A Program may include a Program Coordinator, one or more Guest Mentors, one or more live sessions, a small group of Participants, structured discussion topics, professional and international experience sharing, and English communication practice.

  3. Dochel is not a traditional language school, a tutoring marketplace, a one-to-one tutoring platform, a recruitment agency, an immigration agency, a university, a legal or immigration consultancy, or a job placement service.

  4. Dochel provides the platform, Program structure, coordination, and learning environment. The purpose of Dochel is broader than language learning. Dochel aims to help Participants become more confident communicating in English, practice real-world professional communication, learn from real international experiences, better understand international academic and professional environments, and connect with people from different backgrounds.

  5. Dochel does not guarantee admission to a university, scholarships, visas, immigration, employment, job offers, interviews, salary increases, professional certification, or any other specific academic or career outcome.

2. Who can use Dochel

  1. Users must meet the minimum age and eligibility requirements specified by Dochel for the applicable service.

  2. If a Program has additional eligibility requirements, such as English level or the ability to attend live sessions, those requirements are described in the applicable Program materials.

  3. You must have legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use Dochel on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.

3. Account registration

  1. Some features require an account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information and keep it reasonably up to date.

  2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.

  3. You must not share your credentials with another person.

  4. You must notify Dochel promptly if you become aware of unauthorized access to, or use of, your account.

  5. Dochel may offer sign-in through third-party authentication providers. Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Participant responsibilities

  1. You join Programs voluntarily.

  2. You are responsible for your own participation, behavior, questions, and decisions.

  3. You should attend live sessions you have committed to attend, participate in good faith, and treat Coordinators, Guest Mentors, and other Participants with respect.

  4. You are responsible for the device, internet connection, and environment you use to join sessions.

  5. You are responsible for independently evaluating information shared in Programs before relying on it for academic, professional, legal, immigration, or financial decisions.

5. Program registration

  1. Program registration is complete only after the required enrollment steps and, where payment is required, after payment has been confirmed.

  2. Enrollment is for a specific Program cohort. It is not a purchase of individual sessions.

  3. Cohort seats are limited. Registration does not transfer to another person unless Dochel expressly permits a transfer.

  4. Payment confirmation does not guarantee that a Program will never change. Program changes and any related cancellation or refund options are described in these Terms and in the applicable published refund policy.

6. Program structure

  1. Programs are structured group experiences. A Program may include live sessions, discussion topics, a Program Coordinator, Guest Mentors, and a small cohort of Participants.

  2. Session length, number of sessions, start date, and format are described in the applicable Program materials.

  3. English is the expected language of participation during sessions unless a Program states otherwise.

  4. Programs are designed for practice, discussion, and experience sharing. They are not academic degrees, professional licenses, or certified qualifications unless a specific Program expressly states otherwise.

7. Guest Mentor role

  1. A Guest Mentor shares personal academic, professional, or international experience and participates in discussions.

  2. A Guest Mentor does not represent a promise by Dochel of employment, admission, immigration, or any other outcome.

  3. A Guest Mentor's views are their own unless expressly stated otherwise. Those views do not necessarily represent Dochel.

  4. A Guest Mentor should not be described or treated as an official representative of their current or former employer unless they are expressly authorized to act in that capacity. Participation on Dochel does not, by itself, create any affiliation between Dochel and a Guest Mentor's employer.

  5. A Guest Mentor must not disclose confidential or proprietary information belonging to their employer, former employers, clients, or other third parties.

  6. Participation does not establish an employment, agency, partnership, or representative relationship between a Participant and a Guest Mentor.

8. Program Coordinator role

  1. The Program Coordinator helps organize and facilitate the Program.

  2. The Coordinator is not necessarily a teacher, legal advisor, immigration advisor, recruiter, or employment agent.

  3. Guidance from a Coordinator is operational and educational in nature. It is not legal, immigration, financial, admissions, or recruitment advice.

9. Payments

  1. Prices are displayed before you complete a purchase.

  2. The applicable currency is the currency displayed for the Program or at checkout, according to Dochel's product configuration.

  3. Payment must be completed through the payment methods Dochel supports at the time of purchase.

  4. You are responsible for providing accurate billing and payment information.

  5. Dochel may use third-party payment providers. Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies.

  6. Taxes, fees, or similar charges, if any, are handled according to applicable requirements and the information displayed at purchase. These Terms do not specify tax rates.

  7. Payment confirmation reserves your enrollment subject to these Terms. It does not mean the Program can never change.

10. Cancellations and refunds

  1. Refund eligibility, cancellation windows, and any related deadlines are described in the applicable Program's published refund policy.

  2. If a Program does not publish a specific refund policy, Dochel will apply the refund rules then in effect for that Program or, if none are published, will consider requests according to the circumstances and any rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

  3. Dochel does not promise unlimited refunds.

  4. If a material Program change occurs, you may be entitled to the cancellation or refund option that applies under the published refund policy for that Program.

11. Program changes

  1. Programs may change because of Guest Mentor availability, Coordinator availability, technical issues, scheduling conflicts, operational reasons, or circumstances outside Dochel's reasonable control.

  2. When reasonably necessary, Dochel may change session time, Guest Mentor, discussion topic, session order, or Program schedule.

  3. Dochel will use reasonable efforts to notify enrolled Participants of material changes.

  4. A change does not automatically entitle you to a refund except as described in the applicable refund policy or these Terms.

12. Communication rules

  1. Communications in Programs, sessions, and platform channels should remain respectful, relevant, and consistent with the purpose of experience sharing and English communication practice.

  2. Do not use Program channels for unsolicited recruitment, advertising, or unrelated commercial solicitation.

  3. Do not pressure others to share private, confidential, or sensitive information.

13. Prohibited behavior

  1. You must not:

    • harass other Participants, Guest Mentors, Coordinators, or other users
    • discriminate against others
    • threaten others
    • impersonate another person
    • share illegal content
    • distribute malware or other harmful code
    • attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
    • collect other Participants' personal information without permission
    • record sessions where recording is not permitted
    • publish private conversations without authorization
    • misuse another person's identity
    • disrupt sessions intentionally
    • use the platform for recruitment spam
    • use the platform for fraudulent purposes
  2. Dochel may remove content, limit features, or suspend or terminate access if this section is violated.

14. Confidentiality

  1. Dochel is intended for experience sharing and meaningful discussion. Participants and Guest Mentors must not disclose confidential, proprietary, personal, or otherwise protected information belonging to themselves, their employers, clients, universities, or other third parties.

  2. Dochel does not encourage Participants or Guest Mentors to disclose confidential information.

  3. Dochel cannot guarantee that no person will ever make an unauthorized disclosure. Each Participant and Guest Mentor remains responsible for what they choose to share.

15. Sensitive and private information

  1. Participants must not share:

    • confidential company information
    • proprietary information
    • trade secrets
    • internal documents
    • passwords
    • authentication credentials
    • private customer information
    • personal information belonging to third parties
    • sensitive security information
    • non-public business information
    • confidential academic information
    • any information they are not authorized to disclose
  2. Guest Mentors must also avoid disclosing confidential or proprietary information from their employers or clients.

  3. If you become aware that protected information was shared in a session, do not copy, save, or further distribute it, and notify Dochel if appropriate.

16. Recording and session content

  1. Some sessions may be recorded. Some sessions may not be recorded. Dochel does not record every session.

  2. Where a session is recorded, Dochel will inform Participants before recording begins, and will request consent where the applicable recording implementation requires consent.

  3. If a recording is made, it may be used for operational, quality, educational, security, or documentation purposes, as applicable to that Program.

  4. You must not record a session, or capture screenshots or photographs of a session, unless Dochel has clearly permitted that capture for that session.

  5. A session recording is distinct from screenshots, photographs, User Content, and public marketing content.

  6. These Terms do not grant Dochel unlimited rights to your likeness or voice. Use of your likeness or voice in public marketing materials requires a separate media consent, except for limited uses needed to provide the Program to the relevant cohort, such as making a notified session recording available to enrolled Participants of that Program.

17. User-generated content

  1. "User Content" includes written responses, questions, comments, feedback, uploaded materials, profile information, and optional testimonials you submit through Dochel.

  2. You retain ownership of User Content that you own.

  3. You grant Dochel a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, display, and otherwise use your User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, provide Programs, display content to relevant Participants, Coordinators, and Guest Mentors, improve the service, provide support, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

  4. This license is not an assignment of all rights in your content and is not an unlimited perpetual license for every possible use. If you delete User Content or close your account, Dochel will stop displaying it where reasonably practicable, except for copies retained for legal, security, backup, or operational reasons, or content already shared with a Program cohort as part of delivering that Program.

  5. You are responsible for User Content you submit. You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit it and that it does not violate these Terms or applicable law.

  6. Optional testimonials may be used in Dochel's public materials only if you give a separate consent for that public use.

18. Intellectual property

  1. Dochel owns or licenses the website user interface, branding, logos, platform software, original platform content, and Program materials that Dochel owns.

  2. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Dochel's intellectual property to you. You may use Program materials for personal learning purposes only, unless Dochel expressly permits additional use.

  3. Dochel does not claim ownership of original materials created by a Guest Mentor unless a separate agreement grants Dochel those rights. Guest Mentors retain ownership of their original materials unless a separate agreement states otherwise.

  4. You must not copy, distribute, or publicly share Dochel Program materials except as permitted for your personal learning or as Dochel expressly allows.

19. External links and third-party services

  1. Dochel may rely on third-party services, including payment providers, video conferencing, authentication providers, analytics, hosting, email, and storage.

  2. Where offered, authentication may be provided through Google and GitHub. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies.

  3. Dochel may use analytics and performance services, including services operated by Vercel, to understand how the website is used and to improve reliability.

  4. Live sessions may use third-party meeting tools. The specific tool for a session is the one identified in the session joining information.

  5. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies. Dochel is not responsible for those third-party terms, or for outages or acts of those providers, except to the extent responsibility cannot be excluded under applicable law.

20. Educational and professional disclaimer

  1. Dochel provides educational and experiential content.

  2. Information shared in Programs is for learning, discussion, and practice. It is not a substitute for professional advice tailored to your circumstances.

21. International experience disclaimer

  1. Guest Mentors may be located in a different country from a Participant.

  2. Guest Mentors share their own experience. Their views do not necessarily represent Dochel or their employer.

  3. Dochel is not affiliated with a Guest Mentor's current or former employer merely because that person currently or previously worked there.

  4. Participation does not establish an employment, agency, partnership, or representative relationship between a Participant and a Guest Mentor.

22. No immigration, legal, or financial advice

  1. Dochel does not provide immigration advice, legal advice, financial advice, university admission consulting, scholarship guarantees, recruitment services, or employment guarantees.

  2. Information shared by Guest Mentors represents their personal experience and perspective unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  3. Participants should independently verify important decisions with qualified professionals or official sources.

23. Limitation of liability

  1. Dochel is responsible for providing the platform and Programs with reasonable care and skill, subject to these Terms.

  2. Dochel is not responsible for university admissions decisions, visa or immigration decisions, employment or hiring decisions, or other academic or career decisions made by you or by third parties.

  3. Dochel is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of personal experiences or opinions shared by Guest Mentors, Coordinators, or other Participants, except where Dochel has made a specific representation in official Dochel materials.

  4. Dochel is not responsible for third-party service outages, or for interactions between Participants, except to the extent caused by Dochel's failure to provide the service with reasonable care or where responsibility cannot be excluded.

  5. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Dochel's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or a Program is limited to the amount you paid to Dochel for the Program giving rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months before the claim or, if you paid nothing for that Program, to a reasonable amount not exceeding the cost of re-providing the affected service.

  6. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where such a rule applies.

24. Account suspension or termination

  1. Dochel may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, disrupt a Program, create a safety or security risk, or if required by law.

  2. You may stop using Dochel and request account closure by contacting Dochel through the published contact method.

  3. Suspension or termination does not automatically create a refund right, except as required by the applicable refund policy or by law that cannot be excluded.

  4. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, confidentiality, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, continue after termination.

25. Changes to the Terms

  1. Dochel may update these Terms from time to time.

  2. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.

  3. If a change is material, Dochel will provide reasonable notice through the website or other reasonable means.

  4. Continued use of Dochel after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
